Shakespeare is coming to Vaughan this month.
The Humber River Shakespeare Company will be bringing The Comedy of Errors to Bindertwine Park in Kleinburg on July 14.
The 7 p.m. family show, billed as a comedy riddled with mistaken identity and downright silliness, will feature a shipwreck, a fortune-teller and a magician.
Theatre spokesperson Susan Elliott says while the show doesn’t stray from Shakespeare’s humorous lines, it’s the setting that gives it a unique, elegant flair.
“Bindertwine Park is just a beautiful, natural setting with a pathway that’s lovely to walk through,” she said. “It’s so quiet that a normal voice level can be heard 200 yards away, so our actors find it to be a wonderful venue to perform in.”
Elliott says the show appeals particularly to families who don’t plan on travelling long distances in the summer.
“Iit makes for a perfect family getaway, especially for those families that are staying at home for vacation,” she said.
This will be the group’s fourth season bringing Shakespeare to Bindertwine.
The show makes several other July stops near Vaughan, including Kettleby Village on the 10th, King Museum on the 13th and Town Park, Aurora on the 17th.
