PIANO PIANO is expanding its weekday offering in downtown Hamilton with a new business-focused lunch menu designed to provide a full-service restaurant experience without taking up the entire afternoon.
The Italian restaurant has introduced Pranzo al Volo, or “Lunch on the Fly,” at its Hamilton location at 62 King Street East in Gore Park. The $34 lunch option is available Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., giving downtown workers and other daytime diners an alternative to both quick-service meals and longer traditional lunches.
Guests can choose the new lunch format or continue ordering from PIANO PIANO’s full à la carte menu.
Pranzo al Volo Brings a Faster Full-Service Lunch to Hamilton
The Pranzo al Volo menu includes welcome antipasti, a choice of main course and dessert for $34. The restaurant said the offering is structured around the demands of the workday while retaining the food and service associated with its regular dining experience.
The concept reflects a practical challenge for downtown restaurants: serving office workers and business customers who want a substantial meal but may have limited time during the day.
PIANO PIANO is positioning its new menu as a middle ground, allowing guests to have a multi-course restaurant lunch while maintaining the flexibility needed for weekday schedules.
“Lunch should be quick when you need it to be, but it should still feel like a proper meal,” says Victor Barry, CEO of PIANO PIANO. “We wanted people to eat really well, get back to work and not lose their whole afternoon. Or they can stay. We’re not their boss.”
The restaurant began offering the weekday lunch option on September 21.
Restaurant Favourites Join Hamilton-Exclusive Lunch Dishes
The lunch menu combines several dishes already associated with the PIANO PIANO brand with options developed specifically for the Hamilton location.
Among the established favourites are Canestri alla Vodka, Mushroom Cavatelli and pizza. The selection provides customers with access to some of the restaurant’s familiar Italian dishes during daytime hours.
PIANO PIANO has also added several Hamilton-only lunch offerings, including Niçoise Salad and Chicken Caesar Salad. Another location-specific option is the Hamburghini Lamborghini, adding a distinctive lunch item to the downtown restaurant’s menu.
The combination of existing favourites and Hamilton-specific dishes allows the restaurant to maintain its established identity while adapting the menu to the needs of the local weekday market.
