Labor Minister Jean Bouet announced on Sunday a new investment of $ 19 million to boost employment in the information technology sector.

Of this $ 19 million, $ 15 million will be allocated for financial assistance to IT companies, or about 900 companies. These funds are intended to fund training assistance aimed at upgrading employee skills, employment outside Quebec, and planning for workforce needs. Quebec indicates that the aid could reach 4,000 workers.

The remaining $ 4 million will go to the stimulus aid program. The Ministry of Labor said in a statement that the funds will be used to increase the training of nearly 500 people and will be used “to accompany the unemployed for short training in information technology in institutions at the college or university level.” Aired on sunday.

The ministry said, “The measures that have been put in place aim to tangibly encourage youth, women and immigrants, in particular, to pursue jobs in the field of information technology.”

You will need to contact the Quebec service offices to take advantage of these procedures.

“This investment will allow us to move quickly to increase the number of trained people every year, which is not sufficient to meet the demand,” Minister Boullet said in a press release, describing the information technology sector as a “strategic sector.” And “priority.”
