THORNHILL, Ont. — Cirque Italia is bringing its adult-oriented Paranormal Cirque production to Thornhill this September, with four days of performances planned under its distinctive white-and-black Big Top tent at Promenade Shopping Centre.
The touring production will run from September 18 to 21, 2026, in the shopping centre’s parking lot at 1 Promenade Circle. Combining circus performance, theatre, cabaret and horror-inspired entertainment, the show is intended for mature audiences and includes adult language and material.
Paranormal Cirque Sets September Dates in Thornhill
Paranormal Cirque is positioned as a darker alternative to a traditional circus production, blending European-style circus performances with theatrical storytelling and horror themes.
Rather than following a conventional family-oriented circus format, the production uses an immersive setting built around supernatural imagery, unusual characters and elements of suspense.
Organisers describe the experience as one in which the distinction between reality and illusion is deliberately blurred, with the audience introduced to a fictional world populated by unusual characters displaying traditional and contemporary circus skills.
The Thornhill engagement will feature seven performances over four days, beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 18.
Two shows are scheduled for Saturday, September 19, at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Sunday performances will take place at 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., followed by the final Thornhill show at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, September 21.
Wheel of Death and Magic Among Featured Acts
The touring production brings together performers recruited internationally for a programme combining physical circus skills with theatrical presentation.
Among the acts highlighted for Paranormal Cirque is the Wheel of Death, an acrobatic apparatus involving performers moving on and around large rotating wheels positioned at opposite ends of a structure.
Magic performances and additional circus disciplines are also included as part of the production.
Cirque Italia says the show’s Black Unit follows the company’s animal-free policy, meaning the production relies on human performers rather than live animal acts.
Show Targets Mature Audiences With Horror and Cabaret Themes
Paranormal Cirque carries audience restrictions because of its adult-oriented content. People under 18 must attend with a parent or guardian, according to the organiser.
The age policy reflects the show’s combination of adult language, mature material, horror imagery and cabaret-inspired elements.
The production is part of Cirque Italia’s touring entertainment business, which stages performances beneath temporary Big Top tents in communities across North America.
For the Thornhill stop, the tent will be installed in the parking lot at Promenade Shopping Centre, providing a temporary performance venue for the four-day engagement.

Tickets for the Thornhill performances start at $10, depending on availability and seating level.
Paranormal Cirque is also offering a $5 discount on full-priced tickets in seating levels one, two and three. The promotion cannot be combined with other discounts, offers or deals, and customers must obtain the applicable promotional code by contacting the organiser.

On-Site Box Office to Open Ahead of Performances
An on-site box office will open on the Tuesday of show week. On days without performances, box office hours will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On performance days, the box office will remain open from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
