Pandemic or not the hat contest, girls! Excelle’s scientific component returned in 2021 for versions 25 and 21, respectively. They always aim at the same goal: to encourage women who choose a traditional male profession.

The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education in Quebec have just launched the competition. Students interested in trying their luck must apply on Québec.ca before March 5, 2021.

In addition to promoting diversification of girls’ career options, Chapeau, les Filles! You want to encourage them to persevere until you get their degree in hand. The targeted candidates must be studying in a vocational or technical training program that leads to a traditional male occupation, i.e. where the proportion of women is less than 33.33%.

For its part, the Excelle Science component targets students enrolled in the university in specific scientific or technical disciplines.

Thanks to the many partners who have collaborated with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education, the winners will participate approximately $ 160,000 in scholarships. The award ceremony will take place in June. It will range from $ 2,000 to $ 5,000.
