Jacob Markstrom comes to chase his former team again as he stood in front of his own net to lead the Calgary Flames to a 5-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Monday.

Former Canucks goalkeeper Markstrom saved 25 times to claim the victory.

Johnny Godrow was the perfect attacker for Alberta, with both a goal and an assist.

The striker ensured a reply to Jake Virtanen midway through the second half when he redirected Sean Monahan’s pass behind Thatcher Demko.

Mikael Backlund gave the Flames the lead after just 90 seconds. There was only two seconds left in the penalty shoot-out when Godrow handed it over to Elias Lindholm who lit the red light during the two-player power game.

Sly Giordano and Rasmus Anderson were the other scorers at Camp Flims.

Striker Dillon Dubey left the match midway through an injury that was not a common nature.

Vertanen and Tyler Myers were the top scorer for the Canucks, who met the Canadians on Wednesday.

Pacio launched the return of the Knights

    Coyote 2 – Golden Knights 4

Vegas Golden Knights turned things around to score a 4-2 win over Arizona Coyotes.

Everything seemed to be going well for the Sahara squad, who were dominating the match 2-0 until Max Pasuretti scored his third goal of the season. He took advantage of the narrow angle to make the red light flash less than three minutes before the break.

Riley Smith tied the score early in the third game and put Chandler Stephenson in Vegas midway through the opening. Smith completed a blank net to score his second goal of the match.

Robin Lehner shook 31 pucks in front of the Golden Knights’ cage, which is still perfect after three games this season.

Gibson holds the wild under control

John Gibson blocked 33 shots and signed a 20 lockdown in the NHL, resulting in Anaheim Ducks’ 1–0 victory over Minnesota Wild.

After two spells dominated by Gibson and Wild Goalkeeper Cam Talbot, Nicolas Deslorier accepted a assist from Kevin Shatenkirk and scored his first goal of the season.

The Ducks held out and won the first game of the season and won the opening game at home for the fifth year in a row.

Talbot fired 27 shots in front of the cage for Wilde, who suffered his first loss of the season. The Minnesota team kicked off their campaign with two victors returning in the third half, becoming the only team in NHL history to achieve such feat in their first two games.

The Wild has been stopped in five attempts to play the strength, however, they have yet to score in 16 outings in power play this season.
