Songwriter and music producer Jim Steinman passed away at the age of 73 on Monday, according to Variety.

He is known to have written many songs for artists like Celine Dion or Bonnie Tyler.

Especially Steinman composed Met Love’s debut album “Bat Out of Hill” in 1977, which is one of the best-selling albums of all time with over 50 million copies worldwide.

The two musicians collaborated on numerous occasions after that.

He also has the successes of “Total Eclipe of The Heart” by Bonnie Tyler in 1983 and the version of “It’s All Back to Me Now” for Celine Dion in 1996.

Bonnie Tyler has also reacted to the death of the person she considered her “mentor”.

“I was saddened to learn of the death of my old friend and music teacher, Jim Steinman,” she wrote on Instagram.

Jim wrote and produced some of the most famous rock songs ever and I’m very lucky to be able to do some of them. I made two albums with him when my record company didn’t think he’d like to work with me. Thankfully, they were wrong. I can say, without a doubt. Jim was a genius. “

Jim Steinman also wrote the lyrics for “Whistle Down the Wind” by producer Andrew Lloyd Webber in the mid-1990s.

He also participated in several films, including the cartoon “Shrek 2”.
